Uniform Standards

  • All Officers, staff and crew members are required to wear Cordelia Cruises approved uniforms and name badge
  • Uniforms should not be worn while ashore, unless the employee is ashore on company business.
  • All crew members must provide their own shoes
  • Acceptable Attire:
    • Clean coveralls, Sweaters, Short sleeved shirts / t-shirts, Skirts and dresses, Clean, non-ripped blue jeans / pants,
    • Shorts – non-uniform knee length shorts acceptable as per the below guidelines:
      • T-shirts with sexual comments, slogans or cartoons on them are not allowed to be worn at any time. This also includes controversial / political themes , Wear appropriate clothing until reaching the beach
  • Crew Mess and Staff Mess Unacceptable attire:
    • Bathing suits, Bath robes, Pajamas of any kind, Tank / halter tops, Flip flops / slippers / bare feet, Miniskirts, Hats of any kind, Transparent clothing (blouses, dresses, pants, skirts
    • The Mess is an area where Officers, Staff and Crew should be allowed to relax. To wear a company uniform during meal times is not mandatory
  • Undergarments with color and designs must not be worn if they are visible through the company issued uniforms (trousers/shirts/skirts).
  • During daytime pantyhose to be worn as per discretion of the Hotel Director depending on weather conditions. Pantyhose should be neutral color nylons
  • In the evening pantyhose must be worn in black color nylons
  • Socks must be black or white, depending on uniform and shoes worn
  • Only uniform approved ties and belts are allowed with uniform
  • The Officer, staff or crew member shall be responsible for returning the uniforms and all other company issued property when employment is permanently terminated
  • At the end of the contract, all crew members should return their company issued uniform to the linen keeper before signing off
  • In the event such uniforms or other company issued property are lost, damaged, or left at home, Cordelia Cruises reserves the right to deduct the replacement cost from the wages due to the crew member at the time of rejoining the vessel
  • If uniforms become damaged in the laundry or while worn on duty (wear and tear is visible), the crew member must inform their supervisor so that new uniforms or uniform accessories can be authorized and issued
  • Cordelia Cruises will provide uniforms and laundering of same free of charge to Officers, staff and crew of all departments operations departments.
  • It is the crew member’s responsibility to ensure that the uniform or private clothes are clean, smart, well-fitting and appropriate when in Guest areas.
  • Body modifications for the purpose of achieving alterations that detract from a professional image are not acceptable.
  • Body piercings or body jewelry other than traditional ear piercings, plain earrings and small nose studs for female crew members are not allowed.
  • Visible tattoos are not permitted, however small tattoos are acceptable
  • Hair must be natural looking, clean, well groomed at all times and completely dry when reporting for duty
