Independence Day Celebration
The 77th Independence Day of India was celebrated on board The Empress with a flag-hoisting ceremony on 15th August, followed by patriotic songs, dances and distribution of sweets. The ceremony was attended by The officers, staff, crew and our guests on board. In the late evening, there was a party organised by the Crew Welfare Committe where the crew thoroughly enjoyed the night,dancing their way to glory !!
Empress Chef's Show down 2024
A rare and one of it’s kind initiative for our galley team members to display their talent,culinary skills and gain unqique recognition on board’ The Empress ” was organised where 57 contestants sweated it out with their hidden talents, creativity and presentation skills . There were 3 rounds – Preliminary, Semi Final and Final .The judges panel were chosen from various departments and it was not only phenomenal but also a great sucess !

Though it was was very difficult to judge and select, with great scrutiny and close markings , the final round saw 7 contestants competiting., Elango Senthil Kumar won the final. Mayur Raut and Umesh Debnath were the 1st and 2nd runner -ups
CHESS COMPETITION
A series of chess games played competitively to determine a winner was held in our Crew Day room. After intense sessions, the trophy was bagged by Sagar Kelgimani from the Galey while Prashant More from the Shops was the Runner -up
AIR HOCKEY COMPETITION
For the first time, an Air Hockey Competition was held on board for the crew. This exciting game was cheered by many and after several round, Daniel Colaco from the Entertainment won the title while Akash Joshi from the Activities team was the runner-up
MUSICAL NIGHT
A musical night where fusion was the core, was enjoyed by the crew in the Connexions lounge.
BBQ POOL CREW PARTY
A rare oppurtunity where the crew had an outdoor get-together in the Pool deck with the night’s dinner menu including a Grill where vegetables and meat were roasted over charcoal heat. The Swimming pool and Jacuzzi were open where most of the crew were seen splashing the whole night. DJ Ruben rocked the dance floor and it was a night to remember!!
KAROAKE NIGHT
A karaoke night was held in the Connexions lounge where the voices and hidden talents of the crew were at display.
EXECUTIVE CHEF'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
29th of August was our Executive Chef’s birthday . The crew and officers gathered in the Atrium for a cake cutting which was a total surprise for the Chef ! He went emotional and just could not believe the vibe created then !
CREW RAFFLE
A Raffle of tickets for the crew was organized by the Crew Welfare committee which for the first time, included 11 cash prizes . The Jackpot of Rs.20,000/- was won by a team member from the Galley while the other prizes were won by members of various other departments.
MOVIE NIGHT
On Popular demand, the blockbuster Hindi Comedy movie ‘ Hera Pheri ‘ was screened.
CREW TALENT SHOW
The much awaited and highlight of the crew activities for the month was a Talent show — “CGT 3.0”. Crew from various departments presented their skills and it was an absolute pleasure and surprise for many to see such hidden talents of their co-workers
Birthday celebrations in JULY
LEO – People born during this period are passionate, loyal and infamously dramatic. They are delighted to embrace their royal status – Vivacious, Theatrical and fiery. Leos love to bask in spotlight!
