Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, or Vinayaka Chaviti or Ganeshotsav is a Hindu festival commemorating the birth of the Hindu god Ganesha. The festival was marked onboard Empress with the installation of Ganesha’s clay murtis. Modak for energy and taste, Boondi Laddoo to drown your sorrows, and Peda to relish worldly offerings. Everyday early morning and evening Aartis of the idol took place with lot of crew participation. Visharjan or as you say Immersion of the Lord Ganesh was done the 5th Day in a artificial pond ( Bucket) for the immersion of Ganesh idol.
Onam Celebrations
Onam is a Malayali harvest festival that is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor each year in the southern Indian state of Kerala. The festival, which is celebrated by Malayalis from across the world, on Empress we had Crew from different regions standing by the Malayali’s celebrating Onam to honor the return of the demon king Mahabali to earth. What a celebration it was …The Malayali head Mr Sreedhar Kakkayur and his troops conducting Dance, Songs and Food served in a true Malayali traditional way.
The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
“May the mother of Jesus and our mother, always smile on your spirit, obtaining for it, from her most holy son, every heavenly blessing.” . Even with limited internet we managed to download the Festive Mass which was relayed onto the TV screen enabling a great Prayer Service.
Crew Party
Commemorating Empress First Anniversary Party which was held in the Connexions for all Crew who not only dressed up but let their hair down too….What a party with DJ Clayton in the house playing foot tapping music for all.
Crew Talent Show
Take a Bow Down for all the participants who not only rocked the Marquee Stage with their performances but also for all the Crew who were there to cheer their colleagues and teams . Fun in full Glory …Never knew that Empress had so much Talent… STJ standby Artist ready !!!
Chess Championship
What a tournament it was … One doesn’t have to play well, it’s enough to play better than your opponent. Critical thinking was on display with Winner taking the $$$ prize. Later on the Winner tackled the game with our very Captain Vitaliy… and other smart people who pretend to know the game.

After a successful East Coast Run , we are back to our home turf the West Coast season…
Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work in hand and you will never go wrong . Focus is the keyword here …Put yourselves in Guests shoes and take their journey as every cruise you will have the same questions to answer do it in style with your beautiful smiles. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too. If something is wrong, fix it now.
