Daily Cleaning
- Community face mask
- Reusable gloves (latex)
Cabin Fogging with electrostatic machines
- Disposable FFP2 face mask
- Disposable gloves (latex)
- Disposal apron
- Face shield (reusable)
Cabin Cleaning Order of Tasks
Entering guest cabin
If the cabin is occupied: keep physical distance, do not enter the cabin
Remember: the guests’ cabins must be cleaned when the guests are outside of their cabins
Open curtains and cabin balconies/place door stopper
Sanitised Protective reusable gloves on 1:64 dilution rate
Empty bin
As per Ship Garbage Segregation plan
Remove used items
Used towels from floor, any linen if required (dirty, spotted)
Used chinaware, glassware and silverware
Sanitise gloved hands Oxivir sanitise solution
Makeup Bed
Remove the duvets, pillows, decoration pillows and bed runners and place on a chair
Check linen for soiling. Strip and change the bed linen if necessary
Sanitise gloved hands Oxivir sanitise solution
Clean glass surfaces and mirrors, incl. windows
Ecolab Glass Cleaner, Polishing cloth
Clean and sanitise all hand contact surfaces
Use clockwise movements, includes door handles, light switches, telephone, TV remote, hairdryer, kettle handle, drawers front panel, wardrobe doors, table surfaces, etc
Oxivir sanitise solution 1:64 dilution will be used with 5 min. contact time, cleaning cloth, Ecolab Cleaner
Oxivir Five 16 Concentration and use
* If there is an on-going SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 virus) outbreak on board a ship, then all high touched and hand contact surfaces must be disinfected with 1:16 dilution will be used with 5 min. contact time as per the below:
- One step disinfectant cleaner – Hospital Grade Disinfectant (1:16):
- 1. Apply use solution to surfaces
- 2. Surfaces must remain wet for 5 minutes for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 virus) (Human Coronavirus 229E, as surrogate) and 10 minutes for bacteria, fungi, mold, and mildew
- 3. Wipe surfaces and let air dry
- For day-to-day enhanced cleaning
- Two step disinfectant cleaners (1:64):
- 1. pre-clean area first with Ecolab Cleaner
- 2. Apply disinfectant solution to surfaces
- 3. Surfaces must remain wet for 5 minutes for viruses and 10 minutes for bacteria, fungi, mold, and mildew
- 4. Wipe surfaces and let air dry
Dusting surfaces
Including upper shelves, hinges, lamp shades, air vents, walls, ceilings, floor skirting, chairs and bed legs,
Dusting with clean water and reverse side of cleaning cloth
Use Sponge and Bathroom Cleaner for stubborn dirt and marks
Clean upholstery
Sofa, Cushions, Chairs if required using Vacuum cleaner, Upholstery Extraction Cleaner or Steamer
Balcony
Clean and Sanitise handrails, tables, chairs and sun beds, mop floor if required
Clean cloth, Oxivir sanitise solution 1:64 dilution will be used with 5 min. contact time, mop, and bucket
Clean and sanitise the cabin bin
Use the cleaning cloth and/or sponge, Oxivir sanitise solution
Collect all cleaning and sanitizing equipment and chemicals from cabin
Cleaning Cloth placed into a ‘dirty cloth / rag’ bag
Chemicals sanitised back into caddies
Clean / vacuum carpets
Start from further point (i.e. balcony door) till entrance door
Vacuum cleaner
Sanitise gloved hands Oxivir sanitise solution
Refill clean item
Mini bar items, tea and coffee, glassware, chinaware and silverware, pool towels
Scan the cabin
To make sure all items / areas have been cleaned
Fogging once mid-cruise (day 3 for 7 days cruise)
During morning service
Starting from inside balcony, inside cabin clockwise, inside bathroom
PUR TABS effervescent disinfecting and sanitizing tablets concentration of:
4306 PPM (4 tablets for 1 gallon water) 1 min. contact time
Close balcony door and turn off the lights
Close net curtains for the day service and both curtains for evening service, evening service bed light on
Close door and Sanitise gloved hands for next cabin – repeat process
Oxivir sanitise solution 1:64 dilution will be used
Bathroom Cleaning Order of Tasks
2 cleaning cloths are required to clean each cabin bathroom
Cleaning cloth No.1 – mirrors → Wash Basin → shower / bathtub → bin → floor
Cleaning cloth No.2 – toilet
Sanitised Protective reusable gloves on
Empty bin As per Ship Garbage Segregation plan
Remove used items
Used glassware, remove the shower curtain if marked / dirty
Apply chemicals to allow contact time
Hepburn Bio into the toilet bowl, Spray Oxivir around toilet area and the bin
Bathroom cleaner to wash basin and shower / bath
Clean mirrors and glass shelves
Using Cleaning Cloth No.1 and Ecolab Glass Cleaner
Clean the wash basin, and underneath
Using Yellow sponge with Scourer, Ecolab Bathroom Cleaner and Cleaning Cloth No.1
Clean the shower or bathtub
Using Yellow sponge with Scourer, Ecolab Bathroom Cleaner, Cleaning Cloth No.1
Where tiles in bathroom areas use hand Iron Brush
Sponge / scourer and brush to be thoroughly rinse with hot water than sprayed with Oxivir 1:64 dilution will be used with 5 min. contact time before replacing in the cleaning caddy
Dust light fittings and fixtures
Using Cleaning Cloth No.1
Clean bin
Using Cleaning Cloth No.1
Sanitise all hand contact surfaces
Taps, counters, grab rails, light switches and door handles, including flushing button, walls behind toilet
Using Cleaning Cloth No.1 and Oxivir sanitise solution 1:64 dilution will be used with 5 min. contact time
Clean Toilet bowl
Clean inside toilet bowl using toilet brush and flush
Clean seat and lid both sides and outside toilet bowl using Cleaning Cloth No.2,
Floor cleaning
Using Cleaning Cloth No.1 and Oxivir sanitise solution 1:64 dilution will be used with 5 min. contact time
Using Yellow sponge with Scourer or Iron Hand Brush when scrubbing require
Collect all cleaning and sanitizing equipment and chemicals from bathroom
Cleaning Cloth placed into a ‘dirty cloth / rag’ bag
Chemicals sanitised 1:64 dilution will be used with 5 min. contact time back into caddies
Sanitise gloved hands Oxivir sanitise solution
Restock
Toilet rolls / sanitary bags, Amenities / toiletries, Refill Shower dispenser at 4/5 full
Clean Glassware and Clean towels
Place clean shower curtain
Visually scan the room
- Turn off the light
