Shoes

All crewmembers must provide their own black shoes to complete their uniforms. Some positions may have a specific requirement according to their uniform description.

  • Shoes must have non-skid, non-marking soles and should be conservative in style.
  • Shoes must be enclosed without an opening at the toe or heel.
  • Heels on shoes not to exceed 1.5 inches in height.

It is highly recommended that you break-in (wear) your work shoes before you get to the ship, so you can ensure the shoes are comfortable and provide you with proper support.

Accepted Female Shoe Styles (all shown styles have non‐marking rubber soles)

Accepted Male Shoe Styles (all shown styles have non-marking rubber soles)

Accepted Safety Footwear (with steel-capped toe protection)

Safety shoes must be fully enclosed, steel-toed and have non‐marking and non‐conducting rubber soles. Clog type shoes with open heels are not permitted. Safety shoes will be provided by the company to all those crew members who are required to wear them, such as galley and stores personnel.

Company policy does not permit crew to wear the flip flop style of shoes based on increased likelihood of accidents and hygiene implications. This new policy is in line with P&I club best practice advice and industry best practices for accident reduction. This policy will not extend to:

  • Crew cabins, therefore crew may wear them inside their cabins
  • Crew proceeding ashore or returning from ashore
