Safety begins with YOU!

During your time onboard, your temperature will be monitored frequently. You may also be asked to fill in health questionnaires. All these measures are meant to keep yourself, your colleagues and our Guests safe. As in the past, you will have access to Medical care while onboard and if you are booked off for any medical reason, you will still receive your normal wages as outlined in your contract.

If at any time during your contract you develop any of the symptoms related to COVID-19 you must follow these guidelines strictly.

Immediately put on a mask, or cover your mouth and nose with paper tissue. Proceed directly to your cabin, avoiding busy Crew and Guest areas. It is important not to engage in conversations with Crew or Guests along the way.

If shore leave is permitted and the symptoms develop while you are ashore, you must immediately return to the ship. A face mask or tissue should be used during your journey back to the ship and you must notify Security at the gangway immediately and then proceed to your cabin.

If the symptoms develop while you are in your cabin, you must remain in your cabin and immediately report to the Medical Center and your Head of Department by calling.

Reporting:

Report over the phone by calling the Medical Centre or if not available, call Reception by dialing 00, 000 or the designated number for reporting illness. Briefly identify your self by stating your name, safety number and cabin number and explain what symptoms you have. The Reception team will connect you to the Medical Center. Once in contact with the Nurse on duty, explain your symptoms and answer all questions to the best of your knowledge. You will be asked to remain in your room and the Nurse on duty or the Doctor may visit you for further evaluation. If you are sharing room, either yourself or your room-mate will be moved to a different cabin. Please ensure that you follow all instructions and ask questions to clearly understand the expectations.

There will be strict procedures to adhere to while in isolation if suspected or diagnosed with COVID-19. The Medical staff will be in contact with you daily or more often if required. You will be provided with guidelines regarding the period while you will be in isolation. Your meals will be delivered to your cabin and you will be provided with drinks to keep yourself hydrated. Rest will allow your body to recover from the infection faster. Please avoid any physical activities while isolated as this may prolong the course of the illness. You can keep in touch with your friends onboard over the phone, but no one is allowed to come and visit you or talk with you through the door.

Ensure cuts and sores are covered with a waterproof, highly visible dressing available from the First Aid Kit held in your Department .

Serious cuts, wounds or skin rashes must be reported to Medical Centre to receive appropriate treatment.
